Dr. Vishnu completed his MBBS from JSS Medical College Mysore and MS from Adichunchanagiri institute of medical sciences, RGUHS. He completed DNB ( Fellow ) in Vascular Surgery in 2005 from JIVAS, BMJH, Bangalore. He has undergone training in diabetic foot in Dusseldorf, Germany. Also worked and trained in AV dialysis access salvage, in Kalamazao, USA. Has also presented papers and poster presentations in the previous 3 Vascular Society of India conferences.

Work Experience


Surgical Resident (1996-1997) – in the Department of surgery in Mallya Hospital, Bangalore. During this period, I was exposed to vascular surgical work being done at the hospital and assisted the vascular surgeons working in the hospital. 
       
Surgical Registrar (2000-2001) – in the department of Cardiothoracic surgery at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Heart Centre , Bangalore
Following my general surgical post graduate training, worked in the cardiothoracic department and assisted cardiac surgeries and have done vein graft harvests from the lower limbs.
            
Vascular Registrar (2003) – in the department of vascular surgery at the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad headed by Dr. Pinjala.R.K.
Spent 3 months in this center and obtained experience in the specialty of vascular medicine and immunology.

Vascular Associate (2001-2006 till date) – in Jain Institute of Vascular Sciences. This department is one of its kinds in the country in promoting awareness about vascular surgery. The unit performs around 500 vascular and related procedures in a year. Both open vascular and endo-vascular procedures are being performed here.

Underwent 3 months special training under Dr. Sandmann in Heinrich Heinz University, Dusseldorf, Germany in 2004. In this department has worked and trained in renal transplant team and thoraco abdominal aneurysm repair.

Also worked and trained in AV dialysis access salvage, in Kalamazao, USA for 4 months. 

Coordinator for the phase II global clinical trial conducted by Pfizer International for evaluation of a cardioprotective drug.

Also, has been a coordinator for a multicentric double blinded placebo controlled randomized study of efficacy of Heal aid gel (rh PDGF-BB) for healing of chronic lower extremity diabetic ulcers.

Has been the sub investigator for a randomized controlled trial evaluating the efficacy of alfimerase – thrombolytic agent in peripheral vascular disease.

Have also presented papers and poster presentations in the previous 3 Vascular Society of India conferences. Papers: Geniculate artery bypass, Role of a foot clinic in a vascular surgery department. Poster presentation of Paget Schroetter syndrome treatment.
